Bestica is hiring a Simulation Operations Specialist to provide services at Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Baltimore, Maryland located in Baltimore, MD 21201

Description Of Services: Located at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland, this site is the platform for the C-STARS training. Simulation support instruction for physicians, nurses and Technicians includes airworthy medical equipment, table of allowances/supplies, implementation of the joint trauma system (JTTS), CPGs during trauma and critical care high-fidelity simulation training. C STARS Baltimore supports the 711 HPW’s medical research team, managing an investment portfolio of $19 million spread over 32 projects. CSTARS Baltimore is part of the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, and is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH), the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The Wing delivers unparalleled capability to the Air Force through a combination of world class infrastructure and expertise of its workforce of military, civilian and other personnel encompassing 75 occupational specialties including science and engineering, occupational health and safety, medical professions, technicians, educators, and business operations and support.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 0800-1700. However, there may be times when it is necessary for them to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks. Although at times schedules may have to be flexible, full-time FTEs will not exceed 40 hours per week.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are required. Proficiency with word processing software and SharePoint applications is required.
  • All employees must meet the requirements and/or be in one of the following categories:
  • Current in and maintain a National Registered Paramedic (NRP) or equivalent certification.
  • Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge (with RN level preferred) as the Simulation operator to be able to manipulate physiological data and interpret participants response to simulated scenarios.
  • Must maintain Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
  • Five years of clinical experience in military or civilian setting
  • Employee shall have at least three years’ experience in the programming of human patient simulators using Laerdal, Gaumard , CAE operating systems & other simulation modalities.
  • Employee Prior experience in course development and education methodology
  • Employee shall have knowledge of Trauma clinical skills, procedures, processes to include: AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
  • Employee shall have knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards. Knowledge of military and civilian guidelines, policy & procedure through successful completion of USAFSAM’s and Department’s orientation programs is required.
  • Employee must have a Non-Disclosure Agreement in place with their company, and the company must provide a copy to the Program Manager of this task order. This is necessary in order to mitigate transfer of any confidential, proprietary and/or sensitive information while in this position.
  • Employee must be able to lift > 50 pounds and human patient simulation equipment from one room to another, as well as work in low-light, high auditory volume environments, and differing weather conditions simulating actual aeromedical evacuation missions.

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of military medical/military deployment experience.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Audio/visual solutions, moulage creation & application, hyper-realistic simulators and task-trainers.
