PDS Optical is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our dedicated team at our Optical Lab. If you have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and the skills to motivate others, we want to hear from you.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervision of a certain area within the optical lab to ensure proper and efficient workflow through production. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations. 

This is a 2nd shift full-time position with normal days being Monday through Friday. The schedule may vary slightly but the employee must be available during the "core" hours of the shift. Hours will be discussed during the interview.
 
Must have at least one year of optical experience preferred, however, strong manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered. 

Salary will be based on relevant experience.

Essential Functions

• Must have thorough knowledge of each position within the department and be able to perform and train each position.
• Allocate and prioritize materials, equipment, and personnel according to production schedules.
• Perform training and guidance as necessary to ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and standards. 
• Must have leadership qualities in order to directly supervise employees. 
• Must be able to ensure smooth workflow, monitor progress and resolve routine problems for all department employees. 
• Supervise attendance within the department including PTO, Call ins, Points, etc. 
• Maintain knowledge of company policies and be the first point of contact for department employees with basic questions.  
• Educate and assist individuals to improve performance and in reducing breakage through proper training and education. 

Work Environment

This position is located in our Optical Laboratory and operates in a production/manufacturing type setting. The temperature can sometimes be warm, and the noise level can be somewhat loud. This position requires supervising and working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.
