Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and walking with, pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 10lbs.
Shift
Primarily Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing pre-visit activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment coordination and scheduling; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; as well as maintain HIPAA compliance and comply with all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

This is a full-time, remote work position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
Associate degree and four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient scheduling highly preferred.
