Position Summary:

The Audio Visual & Computer Support Technician Tier 3 is responsible for delivering comprehensive IT support across campus, combining expertise in audio/visual technologies and computer systems. This position supports university events (including academic, athletic, and administrative), maintains classroom and conference technology, and provides end-user support for hardware, software, and networked devices. As a member of the IT Services team, the technician works collaboratively with faculty, staff, event coordinators, and athletics personnel to ensure high-quality user and event experiences.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, set up, operate, and troubleshoot A/V systems, including live streaming, for lectures, meetings, performances, ceremonies, and athletic events.
  • Install, configure, and maintain classroom and event-space A/V systems.
  • Maintain inventory of microphones, mixers, projectors, video displays, speakers, cameras, and other A/V equipment.
  • Train users on the proper operation of A/V and IT tools and systems.
  • Stay current with A/V and IT trends and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Document A/V setups and technical configurations for repeatability and troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software issues for Windows and Mac systems in offices and labs.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware.
  • Assist in maintaining campus-wide security systems.
  • Provide evening or weekend on-call A/V support as required.

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Media Production, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in audio-visual setup and support, preferably in an academic or event-focused environment.
• Experience with computer hardware/software support in an enterprise environment.
• Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Preferred:
• Experience working in higher education.
• Familiarity with sports broadcasting or athletic event production.
• AVIXA CTS or other relevant certification.
