Job Title: Director of Human Resources

Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Director of Human Resources will lead the Human Resources function for Sumaria Systems and direct the company’s HR program including: benefits administration, compliance, recruiting, company policies and procedures, performance review process, payroll, Learning Management System and all other HR related activities. The position requires an independent self-starter with strong attention to detail and time management skills to perform administrative and HR generalist duties. The position reports to the CEO and requires working closely with the Operations staff across the country, employees at all levels, benefit providers and our HRIS/Payroll service supporting the overall mission of delivering quality performance to our customers.

Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for Human Resources administration for 425+ employees to include employment offers/separations and status changes
  • Manage a team of HR and Payroll professionals to provide consistent, innovative, high-quality delivery of HR services
  • Drive HR projects and initiatives including professional development, onboarding programs, HR technology optimization, and employee recognition
  • Oversee brisk hiring and onboarding activity
  • Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers, offering guidance on HR policies, performance, employee relations, discipline and development
  • Manage employee status within the Corporate Management Information System
  • Lead benefits administration (Medical/Dental/Life/AD&D/STD & LTD/FSA and Workers’ Compensation) including 5500 filings
  • Lead leave management
  • Administer the 401K Plan to include plan restatements, participant communications and education, and work with our accounting firm on annual non-discrimination testing and the annual 5500 tax filing, participate as a member on the fiduciary committee.
  • Interact routinely with employees at all levels, benefit providers, vendors and the HRIS services provider (ADP)
  • Understand and accomplish Federal and multi-state compliance related activities and keep abreast of the compliance regulations and laws (states and federal)
  • Manage administrative and information management functions including Performance Reviews and salary changes.
  • Lead the corporate wide recruiting process and administration of the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Participate in the company’s ISO quality management system
  • Support preparation and participation in Internal and External Audits

Required Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • BS degree and 10+ years of leadership in Human Resources, benefit services administration and compliance, master’s degree preferred
  • Strong Employee Relations experience required
  • Ability to collaborate with leadership on strategic matters and roll your sleeves up and assist with required department tasks as well
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of ADP’s WorkforceNow Payroll and HRIS management system
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail; ability to multi-task
  • Must be a polished professional that can enhance the operational environment
  • Must maintain a cordial and professional demeanor at all times
  • Solid understanding of laws and regulations (DoD Federal contractor environment preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Word/Excel/Outlook; SharePoint and report writing tools and proficiency with database tools for tracking and reporting
  • Experience within the Department of Defense federal contractor industry strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

The pay range for this role is $140,000-160,000 annually. Actual compensation offered for any position will be based on many factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications such as education and experience, skillset, internal equity, geographical location, and budget.
