Description:

The Technician is responsible for working on-site at client sites to identify where gas may be leaking into the environment. The Technician will conduct air inspections of process equipment at local oil refineries. The work involves carrying a backpack- mounted monitoring instrument and monitoring process equipment (valves, pumps, compressors, etc.) for leaks.


Work is day shift only. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week. Work hours are 6 am to 4:30 pm, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine leak inspections of industrial piping and tank components.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of air quality rules and regulations.
  • Maintain good public relations with clients.
  • Report all environmental and safety issues to client.
  • Maintain all company equipment in good condition.
  • Maintain all field equipment in good condition.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner, including personal habits, dress codes, and communication skills.
  • Attend all required safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures.



Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance, laboratory, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous refinery, industrial, or manufacturing work preferred.
  • Proficient math and chemistry principles.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; proven time management and prioritization skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • TWIC card.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer software, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to work in industrial settings, outdoors, and/or at elevated heights.

This job operates on site at commercial and industrial facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity; continually required to talk and hear; required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl. The employee must continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information and/or use a keyboard. The employee must frequently lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 25 pounds. While performing duties on site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and loud noises. Travel is also required to and from on-site work.


Salary Range

The hourly range for this role is $22 to $25 at the time of posting. Factors taken into consideration when determining actual compensation include, but are not limited to, education, experience, skill set, location, and business or organizational needs. In addition, this role will also be eligible for overtime pay.
