What You Will Do

  • Prepare and verify accuracy of Student Refunds for the Office of the Bursar.
  • Assist in the general accounting of financial transactions conducted in the Office of the Bursar, including daily balancing of vault, preparation of cash deposit and tracking of Travel Advance requests and payments.
  • Provide a liaison between various University Offices with regards to departmental tasks.
  • Provide customers with excellent customer service by providing accurate information on doing business with the Bursar's Office, being friendly and courteous when interacting with customers and responding promptly to customer issues.


Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
    Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    9 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
    Course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
    Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
    90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Work experience in bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • This position requires the ability to perform duties that require independent judgment.
  • It further requires basic word processing and spreadsheet skills using a PC, and a working knowledge of accounting principles, methods and procedures to support the internal controls.
  • This position requires at least one year of accounting/bookkeeping related experience or six semester hours of college coursework in accounting or sixty semester hours of college coursework in any curriculum.
