Student Services Manager



The University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) is a nationally renowned leader in the field of health care education, research, and clinical practice preparation. SHRS has 13 different disciplines related to health and rehabilitative care. The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh is ranked number 8 in the US News and World Report. We offer an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, and post-professional programs leading to a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, and dual DPT-PhD in Bioengineering degrees as well as post-graduate certificates. The DPT degree is delivered in two formats: residential and hybrid.

The Student Services Manager manages and assists with the day-to-day activities for academic success initiatives. Collects and reports
data to monitor and improve initiatives, programs, and outcomes. The candidate must be proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel), possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty, students, and guests. Dress in appropriate attire for office environment.


Job Summary

Manages and assists with the day-to-day activities for academic success initiatives. Collects and reports data to monitor and improve initiatives, programs, and outcomes.


Essential Functions

• Manages the day-to day activities for academic success initiatives with the University.
• Assists in academic success initiatives such as application, admission, and enrollment support, peer tutoring, academic coaching, transfer student success, and reducing/eliminating academic disparities.
• Coordinates and collaborates effectively across departments and units to maintain and enhance initiatives.
• Monitors initiatives and programs; suggests applicable improvements. Performs data collection and reporting.
• Assists with identifying new techniques and services, programs, and/or initiatives that would benefit students.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to applicable rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Coordinates student workshops, events, orientation, and graduation.
• Collaborates with Student Services Coordinator, Enrollment Specialists, and Student Ambassadors.


Physical Effort

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to lift, stretch and carry up to 25 lbs. Must be willing to support events and operations within PT Department and satellite space within the Southside Works, along with Oakland campus.
