Job Description Summary

This temporary position has been created to address short-term staffing needs within the Field Hockey program. Reporting directly to the Head Coach, the Temporary Assistant Coach, Field Hockey, will support all aspects of managing the intercollegiate field hockey program. This includes assisting with coaching, recruitment, training, game preparation, and administrative duties to ensure the continued success and smooth operation of the team during this transitional period.Essential Duties

  • Responsible for assisting the Head Coach in conducting various duties in compliance with the University and NCAA rules and regulations. This may include: coordinating team travel and meals, film analysis; on field coaching, and providing instruction, mentoring and guidance to student athletes to allow them reach their goals on and off the field.
  • Assist Head Coach in evaluating athletic ability and performance.
  • Assist Head Coach in the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified prospective student-athletes. Goalkeeping experience a plus.

Other Duties

  • Coordinate social media posts and messaging, driving team vans, equipment management
  • Help coordinate community service, alumni and fundraising projects with the team. Assist with other administrative or coaching duties as requested by the Head Coach, or when needed in the absence of the Head Coach.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years coaching experience and/or participation in the sport itself at the varsity level.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of innovative and proven coaching strategies and techniques. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a commitment to developing and maintaining a positive and productive playing environment for all team members.
  • Proven ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to Student-Athlete welfare.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA rules/ requirements relevant to the conduct of an intercollegiate
