Research Project Manager
This position is to serve as a Research Project Manager for the Schmitz Lab and will lead many of the operational aspects required of the federally-funded THRIVE-65 project.
The Research Project Manager will coordinate research activities across the multiple sites that are participating in THRIVE-65 by developing connections with members of the study team, including principal investigators and clinicians, as well as research participants, IRB members, and hospital staff.
The Research Project Manager will use Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines to help develop techniques and procedures that promote the efficient completion of complex research projects and tasks.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing project budgets
- Supervising interns and junior study staff
- Using national and institutional research policies to recruit subjects
- Obtaining informed consent
- Scheduling study-related appointments
- Collecting and coordinating study data
- Troubleshooting issues that occur before, during and after patient visits
- Managing regulatory documents
- Analyzing data
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of grant applications and scientific manuscripts
-Coordinating study activities across multiple research sites
-Participating in National Consortium-wide activities
Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.
Primarily sedentary. May be required to stand for extended periods of time at lab bench.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
