Junior Multimedia Designer – NAWCAD WOLF ePerformance Team
Position Summary:
The NAWCAD WOLF ePerformance Team is seeking a Junior-Level Multimedia Designer to support the creation of visual content used in performance improvement tools, training applications, and digital products delivered to Military personnel and other DoD stakeholders. Applicants should have a foundational working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator as well as experience with capturing photos and/or video through live staged events. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage their own tasks while also working closely with project teams. You'll contribute both independently and collaboratively to assigned design tasks, with guidance and direction from senior designers, across a wide range of media including graphics, video, photography, UI elements, and presentations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a Security Clearance. An active Security Clearance is a plus. This is a hybrid position with a requirement to be on-site up to two days per week in St. Inigoes, MD. In addition, the position will require frequent local travel for media capture events and may require infrequent non-local travel, up to 10% of the time.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Multimedia Design, Digital Media, or a related field; or an Associate's degree with 2 years of professional or internship experience or 6 years of relevant professional experience. A strong portfolio may be considered in place of formal education, and relevant certifications may supplement experience. An equivalent combination of education, demonstrated design skill, and applicable training will also be considered. Adobe Certified Associate credentials or similar industry-recognized certifications are a plus and will be considered in lieu of 1 year of experience.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support the design and production of multimedia content including:
- Informational graphics and illustrations
- Static Imagery
- Web and UI design elements
- Instructional videos, screen recordings, and motion graphics
- Interactive Diagrams
- PowerPoint presentations
- Contributes to various design projects from concept to completion.
- Follow established visual styles and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with senior designers and project leads to meet design goals and deadlines.
- Help translate creative direction, sketches, and rough concepts into polished visuals.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve deliverables.
- Prepare organized files for review, storage, and delivery according to team standards.
- Maintain quality control of design output, including file sizing and visual consistency.
- Contribute to wireframes or mockups with direction from senior team members.
- Collaborate with team members through project lifecycle.
- Participate with on-site photo/video shoots with clients under the guidance of senior project personnel.
Required Skills & Qualities:
Core Design Capabilities:
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, with experience or strong interest in After Effects and XD.
- Applies fundamental design principles (e.g., hierarchy, balance, contrast, alignment) to create aesthetically pleasing and effective visuals.
- Ability to work within existing design systems, templates, and brand styles while supporting content consistency across media types.
- Comfort producing static graphics for instructional, technical, and visual storytelling purposes; including icons, infographics, flowcharts, and wireframes
- Proficiency in creating, and a strong desire to further develop skills in, design deliverables for training applications, such as ICWs, IETMs, JPAs, and instructor-led materials.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines
- Creative problem-solver with an ability to translate complex needs into intuitive design deliverables.
Multimedia & Visual Communication:
- Basic experience or strong interest in photography, video editing, and/or motion graphics for instructional or promotional use.
- Ability to support the visual development of procedures and step-based content, using screenshots, overlays, callouts, or animations.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when creating assets that must align with technical data or system references (e.g., diagrams, drawings, or digitized forms).
Team Collaboration & Work Ethic:
- Ability to communicate clearly with team leads, developers, and analysts, both visually and verbally.
- Receptive to feedback, design reviews, and iterative improvement cycles.
- Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while contributing to shared goals in a hybrid team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to support multiple projects and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles or tools.
- Experience with basic motion graphics, and video editing.
- Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards for digital media.
- Awareness of DoD or military branding, culture, or content standards.
- Exposure to version control or task tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).

- Any academic, internship, freelance, or personal projects that demonstrate strong visual thinking and storytelling.

Salary Range: $47,000 - $55,000 - Antech applies several factors to determine each individual's appropriate salary component in their compensation package, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific elements and broader organizational requirements. The range displayed represents the overall expected salary range for this position and is just one component of Antech's total compensation package for employees.
