Influence and Perception Management Strategist

The Influence, Deception, and Perception Management Activities Staff Officer will support the planning, coordination, oversight, and governance of Department of Defense (DoD) operations, activities, and investments (OAIs) related to influence, deception, and perception management. This role provides high-level support to senior leadership, ensuring the development and implementation of effective strategies, policies, and procedures to guide sensitive and complex mission areas, including those in support of special operations, counterterrorism, and irregular warfare.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development:
    • Develop and promulgate strategies and plans for DoD influence, deception, and perception management-related operations, activities, and investments.
  • Oversight and Governance:
    • Assist leadership in the conduct of oversight and governance, including staff assistance visits and compliance inspections, for DoD influence, deception, and perception management-related operations, activities, and investments.
  • Policy Coordination:
    • Develop and coordinate staff packages that include time-sensitive requirements for leadership to enable DoD influence, deception, and perception management-related operations, activities, and investments.
  • Reporting and Briefing:
    • Produce and disseminate reports and briefings that detail DoD influence, deception, and perception management-related operations, activities, and investments for Congress and Senior Executive Branch officials.
  • Collaboration and Integration:
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of influence, deception, and perception management strategies within broader DoD and Intelligence Community objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with policy development or policy analysis work within the Department of Defense. Relevant fields could include assessments, operational requirements and risk, or operational planning.
  • Extensive experience in influence, deception, perception management, and/or related defense or intelligence fields.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic plans and manage complex, sensitive programs and operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience briefing senior government officials and preparing official correspondence.
  • Experience supporting special operations, counterterrorism, and irregular warfare initiatives is preferred.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive and high-stakes requirements in a fast-paced environment
