Position Purpose
The Vice President leads, guides, and oversees the sales and operational strategy for all LONG business groups operating within the required regions of the business. This position is responsible for driving profitability, operational excellence, and strategic growth across all business units in the region. The Vice President will bring creativity and innovation to LONG as an integral part of advancing the company and maintaining competitiveness in the marketplace. This leader is accountable for the continued success and development of LONG’s presence in the region while collaborating with peers across all the states and locales LONG serves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity gains.
- Proactively manage costs and drives profitability across all business units, ensuring timely and successful execution of operations. Supports sales efforts through strategic pricing and business development.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Oversee operational leaders and teams across departments building collaboration and cohesion.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing operational leadership team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L for operational departments, holding direct reports accountable to budgetary goals and deadlines.
- Track performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and financial discipline. Mentor, coach and support leaders to execute on agreed upon goals.
- Collaborate with Accounting to optimize resource allocation and drive cost savings.
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards and implement risk management strategies to reduce operational disruptions.
- Maintain oversight of vendor and contract management practices.
- Maintain strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and maintain strong relationship with Union representatives, as applicable.
- Collaborate with internal support teams (Marketing, Accounting, HR, IT, etc.) to ensure seamless and profitable execution of business strategies and operational growth/goals.
- Lead operational support for mergers & acquisitions, new market entries, or product/service launches.
- Coordinate employee activities, management initiatives, and strategic planning efforts in alignment with executive leadership and other business unit leaders.
- Continuously forecasts staffing, equipment, tools, and material needs to meet business demands.
- Recruit, train, and lead high-performing teams. Promote development through coaching and performance management, including corrective action and terminations when necessary.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, manufacturers, and customers’ needs to inform and guide long-term strategic planning for the business units and LONG Building Technologies.
- Maintain advanced technical knowledge relevant to business unit operations and stay informed on evolving industry trends, competitor strategies, regulations, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, permitting, regulatory, environmental, and legal requirements at the federal, state, and local levels, relative to work executed by business units.
- Ensure adherence to all LONG policies/guidelines, OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, applicable field of study or 10+ years’ relevant experience with 5+ years at a senior level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven success in performance management, employee coaching, and recruiting/retention strategies.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans, including budget forecasting and financial oversight.
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy (P&L ownership experience preferred).
- Experience overseeing cross-functional teams and aligning operational goals with company strategy.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven knowledge of safety regulations, industry codes, and compliance standards.
- Proficient in data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to travel within the state/region as needed.
