Onboard Systems International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Manager in Vancouver, WA. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate all activities of our machine shop, from strategic planning to daily operations with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and optimization. You will lead a team of machinists and operators to execute a large and diverse scope of aerospace components for follow-on assembly within our manufacturing team. We are looking for someone with deep experience in machining, a constant desire to improve, and a sincere passion for leading a team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversee all aspects of a multi axis CNC machine shop

· Manage, mentor, and develop a team of machinists across multiple shifts

· Coordinate workflow, job scheduling, machine scheduling, and ensure on-time delivery of aerospace components

· Implement best practices to reduce cycle time, minimize setup, reduce scrap, improve quality and accelerate throughput

· Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.

· Direct the development of efficient programing, fixture designs, tool selection and commonization

· Work closely with engineering, quality, scheduling, and production teams to meet delivery goals

· Analyze KPIs, production metrics, capacity planning, and RCA's to drive performance and accountability

· Manage, train, and evaluate staff performance, and take corrective action when necessary

· As a member of the leadership team, collaborate cross-functionally to solve challenges and execute the company's strategic vision

· Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards within the machine shop

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 10+ years' experience in precision machining, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry

· Proficiency in CNC programming

· Deep understanding of high-efficiency machining strategies

· Familiarity with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers

· Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP standards

· Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

· Experience with ERP/MRP systems and digital shop floor tools


Salary: $90,000-120,000 annually. Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with company match, annual bonus target, vacation & holiday pay.
