Responsibilities

The Survey Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of land survey projects, including oversight of budgets, resources, and deliverables. This position serves as the primary liaison between SAM and clients, ensuring clear communication and project success. The role also includes management of both field and office staff, business development efforts, and proposal creation.

  • Lead land survey projects from initiation through completion, ensuring compliance with company quality standards and client specifications

  • Develop and manage project proposals, budgets, schedules, contracts, and billing

  • Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operational efficiency

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of field and office staff across multiple survey projects

  • Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings as required

  • Define work plans and staffing needs for concurrent projects

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; identify and pursue new business opportunities

  • Present project updates and technical information to clients and stakeholders

  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and external partners to ensure seamless project execution

  • Track and report on project financials, including accounts receivable (AR), work-in-progress (WIP), and billing cycles

  • Represent SAM at industry meetings and trade shows as needed

  • Support other departments and contribute to achieving company strategic goals



Qualifications



  • Previous industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects
  • Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
  • Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
  • Professional License required
