POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for the development of hybrid electric power and propulsion systems, integration and vehicle development by leading the design, analysis, manufacturing, building and testing phases.  They are responsible for the management of new engineering projects.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Lead and manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Customer communication and interaction
  • Conduct engineering analysis of components and dynamic systems
  • Architect, design and develop hybrid electric propulsion and power systems
  • Analyze system performance 
  • Support part and system testing
  • Write proposals and reports
  • Execute additional responsibilities aligned with evolving business needs and leadership direction

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science Engineering
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience with vehicle propulsion, hybridization or electrification systems or components
  • Experience architecting, testing and calibration of hybrid or electrical power generation systems
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Self-directed and tolerant of project ambiguity
  • Knowledge of hand tools
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • US Citizen/ ITAR compliant

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with vehicle dynamics design and analysis
  • Propulsion system test laboratory experience (instrumentation, set-up and operation) preferred
  • Proficient using PTC Creo software as evidenced by at least 1,000 hours of professional experience
  • Experience with design for manufacturing
