SUMMARY OF POSITION:

United Sports Brands is seeking a Digital Asset Specialist to oversee the intake, organization, routing, and deployment of digital content assets across our portfolio of athlete-driven brands: Shock Doctor, Cutters, McDavid, PEARL iZUMi, Nathan, and more. This role ensures creative assets are delivered accurately on time and optimized for use across our global omni-channel ecosystem—including retail partners (eComm and in-store), DTC, email, paid media, organic social, events, and print.

 

This is an individual contributor role requiring cross-functional collaboration with creative, marketing, and digital teams. The ideal candidate is process-minded, highly organized, and excited about implementing scalable systems, AI-enhanced tools, and proactive communication to streamline creative operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital assets: intake, review, version control, tagging, rights management, deployment, and archival.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative (Creative Director, designers, content creator), project management, brand marketing, e-comm, and field marketing to define asset needs by campaign, channel, and partner.
  • Coordinate pre and post-production steps for ecom product photography.
  • Own the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system (Brandfolder preferred), ensuring accurate tagging, logical organization, and consistent accessibility.
  • Support DAM access governance by maintaining user permissions and facilitating asset request workflows.
  • Deliver assets to multiple platforms and partners, including Salsify, DTC platforms, Amazon, and global retailers.
  • Maintain and organize shared server folders, and upload key image assets into Figma libraries for use by the design team across brand toolkits and systems.
  • Maintain archival systems for legacy campaign assets and evergreen content to ensure long-term usability and brand continuity.
  • Manage retouching workflows with both internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate the delivery of campaign and product toolkits and communicate availability to internal teams.
  • Own internal and external communication around asset availability—proactively sharing updates when new content or toolkits go live.
  • Ensure compliance with usage rights and licensing for all content (e.g., athlete, influencer, agency).
  • Refine metadata taxonomy, naming conventions, and folder structures using AI-assisted tagging or classification tools where appropriate.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered tools (including Brandfolder AI and ChatGPT) to streamline asset management, improve discoverability, and accelerate workflow.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies relevant to creative operations and recommend systems that enhance scalability and precision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • This is a full-time position
  • Typical work hours and days are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • This position is based out of the Fountain Valley, CA office
  • This position is expected to travel approximately __10__%.
  • This position requires in-office attendance at least __4__ day(s) per week (subject to increase in future).

PAY TRANSPARENCY

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for this role in Fountain Valley, CA is $55,000 - $75,000.
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position does not have any leadership requirements and/or responsibilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in Digital Asset Management or Creative Operations for retail, sports, or lifestyle brands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Information Science, Project Management, Creative Services, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with DAM platforms (Brandfolder preferred) and managing files across multiple systems (e.g., shared servers, Figma).
  • Bonus for experience with Figma, Salsify, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with eComm product photography workflows, including retouching pipelines and studio asset delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata tagging, digital content rights, licensing, and developing naming conventions or folder hierarchies.
  • Understanding of file formats, compression best practices, and optimization for web, print, and social channels.
  • Experience supporting global markets and retail/eComm go-to-market timelines.
  • Proven ability to translate creative intent into asset requirements, manage multiple stakeholders, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at prioritizing tasks and timelines across cross-functional teams.
  • Bonus experience: Background in managing toolkits, usage guides, and brand portals.
  • Bonus experience: AI-powered tagging, image recognition, or auto-classification tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to  15 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
