Program Administrator
In the department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science, Doctor of Chiropractic Program, this position leads research operations of the ENRICH Virtual Resource Center by serving as the principal peer mentor to research administrators at multiple Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) partnering institutions. The ENRICH program aims to build research capacity at CIH partnering institutions through virtual didactic training and continuous programmatic support. The ENRICH Program Administrator will have lead responsibility for ensuring that research administrators and research staff at CIH sites receive the information, resources, and direct mentoring required to meet the aims of the ENRICH program and prepare CIH sites to independently obtain and manage research awards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree
5 years research experience in the health sciences
Job Duties
Provide continuous, one-to-one mentoring to research administrators and research staff at CIH sites throughout the duration of the ENRICH program
Supervises the ENRICH Regulatory Specialist and Project Coordinator
Facilitate initial execution and annual renewal of subawards from Pitt to CIH sites, using this key function as a mechanism to train and mentor CIH research administrators in the budgetary and administrative factors involved
Develop and administer a needs assessment for CIH sites to identify areas for training and mentoring at CIH institutions. Periodically administer additional surveys of CIH sites to assess program performance and emergent needs
Develop and provide trainings for CIH research administrators and research personnel in key facets of pre-award and post-award research project administration. Solicit and coordinate the contributions of ENRICH faculty investigators and other experts to these trainings
Develop and provide trainings for CIH clinician investigators and research staff in key facets of research start up and implementation, including developing a project resource plan, hiring and managing staff, and progress assessment reporting. Solicit and coordinate the contributions of the ENRICH faculty investigators, Regulatory Specialist, and Project Coordinator
Supervise the enrollment of CIH research administrators in the online LevelUP research administration training course. Advise and tutor CIH administrators directly regarding course content and its application to their sites
Participate in regular meetings of the ENRICH leadership team and reports to the Co-Program Directors on research and emergent issues at CIH institutions
Performs other duties as assigned in support of the ENRICH program aims
Develops and conducts research related training programs and manages day-to-day program operations. Establishes metrics to evaluate program success, conducts surveys and analyses, and ensures needs are fulfilled. Writes articles and prepares reports on the program. Provides direction and technical assistance and ensures quality and accreditation of the program. Recruits, trains, directs, and manages staff members and temporary employees. Sets performance standards and accountability.
• Designs, develops, schedules, and conducts research related training for internal and external stakeholders, including entities such as healthcare providers, community coalitions, and other institutions.
• Coordinates the training programs and manages the day-to-day operations of the program.
• Ensures the program is fulfilling the needs of end users and faculty.
• Designs and establishes metrics to evaluate the success of the programs. Conducts surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs. Conducts need analyses to direct research and data collection.
• Writes and edits articles about the program.
• Prepares reports regarding training needs assessments and program planning strategies as well as quarterly and annual reports to funding agency on outcomes.
• Provides direction and technical assistance to staff for conducting trainings.
• Interfaces with outside organizations and ensures adherence to federal, state, and local guidelines in maintaining accreditation for the training programs.
• Performs quality assurance. Ensures the quality of all training logistics and new training resources and presentations. Organizes and compiles the work of the instructional design team.
• Recruits, trains, directs, and manages staff members and temporary employees. Sets performance standards and accountability.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
