Catalyst Policy Research Scientist
Housed within the Department of Medicine Center for Research on Health Care, CONVERGE is a multidisciplinary, collaborative research center focused on advancing sexual and reproductive health equity through innovative research, policy analysis, and community partnerships. CONVERGE is hiring a Senior Research Scientist for its Catalyst research initiative. This new initiative focuses on improving sexual and reproductive health care access in Pennsylvania. This project brings together a multidisciplinary team to address barriers, promote equity, and advance innovative solutions for sexual and reproductive health across the state. Candidates should have completed the requirements for a PhD in a behavioral science discipline or related discipline (e.g., psychology, sociology, public health, epidemiology etc.) with domain expertise.
The policy analyst will monitor policy landscape, communicate with policy stakeholders, and conduct policy analysis. They will also help support policy implementation and evaluation efforts.
Serves as subject matter expert and conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various complex documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations. Trains undergraduates, junior lab members, and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates high-level work and project development in collaboration with other specialists.
Requires the ability to visualize a computer screen, to work with computer hardware and software, to communicate verbally and in writing, and to use a phone. The candidate must have strong working knowledge of English.
Position is mostly sedentary work.
