Job Title: Inventory Control Supervisor
Position Summary: The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily inventory operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all storage and distribution locations. This role supervises a team of inventory staff, coordinates cross-functional activities, and supports process improvements that contribute to effective inventory control, reduced discrepancies, and optimal stock levels. The Inventory Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining smooth warehouse and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of inventory specialists, warehouse associates, or other assigned staff.
  • Oversee and verify inventory transactions across all systems and locations for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Plan and lead regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; reconcile results and investigate discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper receiving, labeling, storage, and organization of incoming materials or products.
  • Monitor outgoing shipments and ensure accurate picking, packing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, logistics, and sales teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize disruptions.
  • Manage and maintain inventory management systems; ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
  • Identify, implement, and enforce inventory control procedures; recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce shrinkage.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards for storage and inventory handling.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate inventory staff; support employee development and performance management.
  • Participate in audits and lead internal inventory-related compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred.
  • 3–5 years of inventory control, warehouse, or logistics experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or WMS).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing SOPs or implementing inventory control improvements is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and barcode scanning tools.
  • Forklift and warehouse equipment certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating scanning or inventory tools.
  • Visual acuity for reading labels, scanning barcodes, and working on computer screens.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Willingness to work in variable conditions, including cold storage, outdoor loading areas, or noisy environments.
Mental Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative in resolving inventory issues.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, or competing demands.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Ability to train and motivate team members while holding them accountable.
  • Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Pay Range: $ 70,000. - $80,000 Annual
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Operational Support Manager
Location: On-site
