Responsibilities
Major Accountabilities:
- Prepares shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers.
- Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.
- Ships items by verifying identifying information, quantity, and condition of parts and supplies to be shipped; loading and protecting items.
- Documents parts and/or supplies to be shipped by recording transport information and identifying data about items to be sent.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by shipping adequately contained, previously inspected parts to customers promptly and efficiently.
- Receives items by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers.
- Verifies parts and/or supplies received by inspecting the condition of items, comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list, and notes discrepancies.
- Transfers orders received by routing or delivering items to requested department.
- Replaces damaged items and shortages or obtains credit by informing shipper and transporter of damage or shortage, returning damaged items, and requesting new items or credit for shortages.
Physical Limitations: Work may require bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds, some mathematical ability, and writing. This position requires experience with UPS, FedEx, and Export’s computerized system.

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
Minimum Years of Experience Required: Two (2) years in shipping/receiving preferred, preferably in a manufacturing environment
