Description:
ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Care Provider Instructor to support the United States Air Force's Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) training program at the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), En Route Care Training Department (ET), CSTARS Cincinnati. The RCP Instructor will deliver expert-level education, simulation support, and clinical instruction to prepare students for in-flight critical care responsibilities in operational environments.
This role provides academic and hands-on instruction aligned with military aeromedical evacuation standards and will include participation in full-mission simulation, peer review, curriculum development, and post-training assessments.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver didactic and simulation-based instruction in accordance with CCATT curriculum requirements.
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance during simulated in-flight and ground-based training events.
- Teach topics such as altitude physiology, emergency airway management, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and patient monitoring during aeromedical transport.
- Demonstrate and instruct on the setup, calibration, and use of flight-adapted critical care ventilators, monitors, and oxygen systems.
- Participate in simulation scenarios using high-fidelity manikins to replicate in-flight emergencies and operational stressors.
- Prepare students for military operational care environments including combat zone evacuation and disaster response.
- Support evaluation of student performance through written exams, skills demonstrations, and oral assessments.
- Maintain course documentation, student records, attendance, and performance metrics.
- Engage in peer review, curriculum planning, and continuing education to ensure training reflects current clinical best practices.
- Attend planning and administrative meetings and advise the course director on respiratory care best practices in military transport environments.
- Contribute to curriculum updates and support quality assurance initiatives.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or RRT credentials accepted.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in any U.S. state or territory.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in acute care settings, with at least two (2) years in critical care
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS).
- You must complete Basic Instructor Course (BIC) within 60 days of hire and achieve 60 instructor hours to be fully qualified.
- The ability to lift and move simulation equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in low-light, high-volume, and varied weather conditions simulating aeromedical environments.
- US Citizenship required.
Highly Desired Skills
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Prior military service or experience in CCATT or aeromedical evacuation environments.
- Experience with medical simulation systems and scenario-based instruction.
- Knowledge of aerospace physiology and operational medicine.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense training protocols and documentation systems.
