Description:
ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Program Manager (Simulation Operator) to support the C-STARS training platform at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. This position supports the United States Air Force's 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), specifically within the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). The selected candidate will play a key role in the simulation-based medical training mission by operating high-fidelity simulators, supporting trauma-focused training scenarios, managing simulator assets, and contributing to the planning and execution of simulation education programs for physicians, nurses, and medical technicians.
This role requires extensive experience with simulation technologies and a clinical background that enables realistic training scenario execution in simulated operational and aeromedical evacuation environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage high-fidelity patient simulators (Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE, and others) to support trauma and critical care team training.
- Provide technical and analytic support to simulation-based education and research activities.
- Assist in simulation scenario development, evaluation metrics design, and course validation processes.
- Collect, analyze, and report performance data on individual and team-based training outcomes.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain simulation equipment and supplies; support simulation session prep and cleanup.
- Participate in curriculum development and improvement activities; assist with train-the-trainer initiatives.
- Conduct orientation and instruction on simulation equipment and environments for instructors and students.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including course directors, IM/IT, logistics, and education program managers.
- Create and maintain documentation including simulation checklists, lesson plans, maintenance protocols, and troubleshooting guides.
- Support Learning Management System usage and integration for tracking and feedback purposes.
- Support USAFSAM research and simulation initiatives and participate in strategic meetings and planning.
- Comply with safety, security, and operational standards for simulation-based training programs.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification or equivalent clinical background (RN preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support–Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in a military or civilian healthcare setting.
- At least three (3) years of experience programming and operating human patient simulators (Laerdal, Gaumard, CAE).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and SharePoint; strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Experience in course development and educational methodology.
- Working knowledge of trauma care procedures and Air Force Medical Service Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
- Understanding of Air Force and civilian simulation education standards; must complete the required USAFSAM orientation programs.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and move simulation equipment; must tolerate low-light, high-noise environments simulating real-world aeromedical conditions.
- US Citizenship required.
Highly Desired Skills
- Prior military medical or deployment experience.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, A/V solutions, hyper-realistic moulage, task trainers, and VR procedural trainers.
- Familiarity with simulation program expansion and high-fidelity simulation environments.
- Ability to assist with scenario review, course evaluation, and operational shortfall mitigation.
