TITLE : GL Accountant
REPORTS TO : Senior Accountant
S UPERVISES: None
PURPOSE : We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GL Staff Accountant to join our growing corporate accounting team at Ruppert Landscape. In this critical role, you will help ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting by reconciling balance sheet accounts, supporting month-end closing, and assisting in the annual financial audit. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a drive for process improvement and career advancement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist ing with the monthly financial close by performing reconciliations, analyzing variances, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data , and other adjusting entries to support the month-end close process.
- Assisting with balance sheet oversight by reconciling and monitoring assigned accounts
- Assist ing with p reparing financial reports, budgeting, and forecasting under the guidance of senior accountants.
- Assisting in ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as needed, providing insights to help improve financial processes.
- Assisting with the annual financial external audit by preparing necessary documents and supporting schedules.
- Track ing and reconciling fixed assets, record ing depreciation, and assisting with fixed asset management.
- Contribut ing to internal controls by identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of enhanced procedure s
- The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $67,000 per year
Qualifications/Skills: Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2+ years of professional accounting experience (public or private).
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to meet deadline s and work well under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( E xcel, Word, PowerPoint)
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
Qualifications/Skills: Preferred
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting financial audits and working with external auditors.
- Exposure to fixed asset accounting, month-end close, and cash management.
- CPA candidate or interest in pursuing CPA designation is a plus.
