Job Description

Hoefer Welker is seeking a qualified Director of Supply Chain Services for our Medical Equipment Planning team (Clinical Technology) with 10-15+ years of experience. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing specialized Medical Equipment Supply Chain consulting services within healthcare organizations. The role is expected to have in-depth understanding of medical equipment supply chain purchasing processes, vendor contracting, vendor relationship management, and ability to implement a strategy to develop and expand the services. The role is client-facing with business development capabilities to effectively communicate with hospital supply chain teams, clinical teams and project design and construction teams. The role can involve extended on-site presence within a healthcare organization, or to manage resource(s) embedded within hospital organization supply chain groups.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of medical equipment supply chain operations aligned with organizational goals and clinical needs.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects and team resources.
  • Manage project resources and maintain project profitability.
  • Participate in business development activities to include client presentations, attend industry tradeshows or generate on-going business through working relationships with clients or architects throughout the industry.
  • Work interactively with supply chain groups and architectural and engineering teams to communicate and coordinate medical equipment procurement processes or programs.
  • Conduct and attend meetings (virtual or in-person) with supply chain teams or architectural/engineering design teams to discuss, evaluate and coordinate medical equipment procurement.
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day medical equipment planning activities and deliverables with a support team.
  • Maintain client relationship and proactive customer service.
  • Ability to travel (25 – 50%), as required by project.

Job Requiremetns

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • 10-15+ years experience or related field.

Certifications/Registrations:

  • PMP certification a plus

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess detail driven habits, ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and be deadline oriented.

  • Strong ability to lead/direct, work with and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to initiative and demonstrate resourcefulness.
  • Ability to manage multiple, or large/complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources and project profitability.
  • Ability to generate new business through working relationships throughout the industry.
  • Effective professional communication skills with both internal team members and external clients, consultants, and vendors to the organization; good spelling & grammar skills, multi-task orientated.
  • Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), SmartSheet, BlueBeam Studio, EquipWare (or equivalent equipment planning database application).
  • Ability to read and translate architectural drawings into medical equipment placement drawings. Working knowledge of AutoDesk REVIT a plus.
  • Ability to present ideas to clients, which include clinicians, hospital administration and executives and medical equipment vendors.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information.
  • Ability to identify challenges and demonstrate independent judgment in decision making.
