About the Role:

The Nurse Staff Float position is a vital role within our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care across various departments as needed. This position requires adaptability and a strong clinical skill set to ensure that patients receive consistent and effective care, regardless of the department. The Nurse Staff Float will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, implement care plans, and monitor patient progress. By floating between departments, this role enhances the overall efficiency of our healthcare services and ensures that staffing needs are met in a timely manner. Ultimately, the Nurse Staff Float contributes to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction through their versatile and responsive care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
  • At least one year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in multiple nursing specialties, such as critical care, pediatrics, or emergency nursing.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Previous experience in a float pool or similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in various departments, including but not limited to medical-surgical, pediatrics, and emergency care.
  • Assess patient conditions, document findings, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and departmental protocols.
