Job Summary
Develop, implement, and direct a comprehensive ergonomics program throughout campus that utilizes current methodologies. This program will provide guidance to supervisors and employees on acceptable work practices. Assess risks and prioritize area for audits, training, and preventive action strategies to meet the best practices established by NIOSH, ACGIH, ANSI and compliance with OSHA standards. Develop and provide training to areas needing assistance. Assist departments in the development and implementation of programs and work practices. Implement hazard control methods utilizing the hierarchy of controls framework to mitigate hazard exposures. Coordinate with Human Resources and health services for return to work and restricted duty protocols. Collaborate with various stakeholders’ campus-wide, including Dept of Research Safety.
