Overview

ITT Inc. is looking for an Advance Procurement Specialist to join their team in Houston, TX. This position will be responsible for supporting the “Buyout” content for the Industrial Process global project business in winning the initial business through supplier negotiation pre-award and improve margins after purchase order awarded from customer. Buyout categories include motors, turbines, seals, lube oil systems, couplings, instrumentation and other major OEM cost drivers of the overall system. This position requires close working relationship with the regional sales team to deploy the process linking the Industrial Process major project quotation process through order capture and on to successful fulfillment. The Advance Procurement Specialist also ensures alignment with corporate sourcing strategies and initiatives within the commodities. The scope includes quoting, negotiating, sourcing, buying, and managing the supplier relationships and supplier performance for the buyouts in support of the global Supplier Roadmap and business requirements.

 

 



Responsibilities

  • Support the regional sales organization to achieve targeted order volume.
  • Assist Sales in securing strategic projects by identifying the most competitive acceptable sources; scope includes securing valid supplier quotations in good timely manner, performing effective negotiations & settling the commercial Terms & Conditions in favor to IP business
  • Leading regional sourcing activities on buyouts for strategic projects
  • Development and improvement of an automated/standardized quoting process to enable efficient proposal management for strategic projects
  • Develop & manage strategic supplier relationships in assigned region aimed at achieving the highest level of performance and customer service from the suppliers as well as the lowest total cost enabling IP to win work and enhance margins
  • Lead the effort to utilize Low Cost Region (LCR) suppliers by including LCR suppliers in the proposal stage
  • Responsible for supplier performance management to include: quotation lead time, documentation on-time performance and accuracy, and product delivery on-time performance and quality
  • Support SAP implementation related tasks around Advance Procurement integration
  • Effectively convey ideas through speaking, writing, or graphic presentations
  • Enforce corporate policies regarding to the ethical conduct of purchasing activities and the supplier Code of Conduct


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing and sourcing industrial/engineering OEM products with complex specifications is required; Strong buyout knowledge is a plus.
  • Fluent Bi-Lingual Spanish(Written, Reading and Spoken) is preferred.
  • LCR Purchasing experience a plus.
  • Global complex project purchasing experience desired.
  • International travel to IP sites and suppliers will be required.
