JOB DESCRIPTION:


Position Summary:

Serves as a key member of the Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems accounting team with a heavy focus on customer service and managing account reconciliations.

Essential Functions:
• Train customers on the Bendix core program, policies and freight process.
• Support customers by handling questions and issues regarding the core program including issues with returns. Coordinate return issues with plant including tracking of freight. Provide training for customer personnel including core sorters at their facilities.
• Perform customer account reconciliations, issue debits and credits as necessary and maintain core bank activity as required.
• Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations to ensure the overall core process is properly reflected in the general ledger. Propose and book required adjusting journal entries.
• Work with accounts receivable to collect on any open core receivables.
• Provide support including structured and ad hoc reporting to internal and external groups, such as, customers, finance, reman management team, PG personnel and sales.
• Coordinate all aspects of core freight between Bendix, Argus and customers. Includes customer returns, month end processing, freight credits, and program changes.
• Maintain core web page & core literature
• Assist in identifying and evaluating risks and opportunities related to the core program, customers, and freight. Implement process improvements as needed.
• Process core true up report at month end and book entries as needed.
• Serve as back up to accounts payable check runs
• Support month end and year end closings and serve as back-up for the core manager.
• Provide other financial and analytical support as requested

Required Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office suite products required
• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Proven customer service skills and experience
• Possess strong analytical skills
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting aggressive deadlines

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• SAP or other financial ERP systems experience is a plus

• Knowledge of cores and remanufacturing is a plus
• Accounts receivable experience desired

Education:
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required
Travel:
• Must be capable of traveling to plant or customer locations approximately once every month.
