Job Title: Branch Support Clerk

Department: Branch Support

Reports To: Branch Support Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 6


Summary 

The Branch Support Clerk supports branch operations and the multiple facets of Rio Grande Credit Union’s front-line operations. Cultivate a culture and environment to make members dreams come true.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones that the employee can be required to perform. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties and trainings as dictated by their supervisor/manager.

Support Duties 

  • Mail Room - Completes all mail room functions: 90%
    1. Posting and processing all items sent to the credit union via USPS
    2. Organizing, separating, and sending out all interoffice bags according to the mail room procedures
    3. Completes returned mail retention to ensure the credit union remains in compliance
    4. Returned Mail – retain and add bad address flags
  • Acts as a back up for deceased member situations including but not limited to:
    1. Communicating directly with members as needed
    2. Receiving initial notification and placing necessary information in the core processor.
    3. Emailing notification to necessary departments. 
  • Safe Deposit Boxes
    1. Assists with review quarterly branch audits to ensure accuracy 
    2. Manage inventory in core processor as needed 
  • Other
    1. Receive and process subpoenas with appropriate department
    2. Overdraft management (Strunk)
    3. Complete asset verification for incoming requests 
    4. Provide feedback to the Branch Support Supervisor in processes and training needs.

  • Proactively approach issues & offer creative solutions that will make doing business with RGCU easier
  • Assists in any other areas as directed by the Branch Support Manager, AVP of Branch Administration, VP of Member Operations, Senior Management and/or President/CEO.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group email.

Education and/or Experience                                                            

Experience- Up to 6 months of related experience.

Education- Has a high school degree or equivalent.

 

Language Skills                                                      

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals such as Standard Operating Manuals (SOPs).  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                             

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, amortizations, proportions, percentages, cash flow, net present values, and depreciation.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and arithmetic.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                   

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills                                                     

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Symitar's; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
