Job Description

ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Research Database Developer (1 FTE) to support the Center for the Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (C-STARS) at Cincinnati, OH. C-STARS is an Air Force Medical Service training platform partnered with the University of Cincinnati to provide advanced Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) training for DoD medics. This role supports database development, management, maintenance, and data integration to ensure research and clinical data integrity and accessibility, collaborating closely with University of Cincinnati IT infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

The Research Database Developer will design, develop, and maintain research and clinical databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. The role involves programming, data integration, virtual desktop management, and supporting clinical research efforts by providing efficient data systems solutions. Key duties include:

• Develop, design, and maintain research data systems and applications including REDCap, Microsoft Access, SQL databases, and EDC systems such as Medidata Rave
• Ensure data integrity through coding, auditing, and validation processes
• Design and implement data integration, mapping, transformation, and cleansing activities
• Download, convert, and integrate medical device data into research databases
• Manage secure virtual desktop environments optimized for research activities
• Write, optimize, and maintain scripts for ETL processes using Visual Basic, VBA, SQL, PERL, JavaScript, and C#
• Generate detailed reports analyzing clinical and research data to identify trends and improve outcomes
• Ensure compliance with GCP and regulatory standards while protecting sensitive information
• Provide training and technical support to clinical and research staff on data management systems and best practices
• Develop and maintain data management plans, SOPs, and quality control measures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in database development and management in research and clinical research settings
• Proficiency with programming languages used for research database design and management (Visual Basic, VBA, SQL, PERL, JavaScript, C#)
• Experience with REDCap, Microsoft Access, SQL databases, and EDC systems (e.g., Medidata Rave)
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• US Citizenship required

Highly Desired Skills

• Master's degree in health informatics, Computer Science, or related field
• Certification in database management, clinical data management, data integration, or health information technology
• Strong analytical skills for data analysis and reporting
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes
• Prior military medical or research experience
