JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the HR Director, the HR Assistant will support the HR Department by completing a variety of administrative tasks to assist daily operations in the Human Resources Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. HR file maintenance, including, but not limited to, file composition, auditing, terming/archiving, and general file maintenance.
  2. Data entry and administrative changes in HRIS and/or other applicable systems.
  3. Completes employment verifications.
  4. Assists with Onboarding, including, but not limited to, (electronic) file composition, appliable dissemination of policies/processes, letters, job descriptions, etc.
  5. Badge administration.
  6. Assists with audits.
  7. Fingerprint file assistance and maintenance
  8. Completes, runs, follows-up and maintains applicable reports, such as, but not limited to, driving/PSL checks, licensure, mandatory trainings, 30-day orientation, 6-month evaluation, etc., as needed.
  9. Completes department expense coding sheets for review and approval.
  10. Designated assistant to HR Onboarding Lead.
  11. I9 compliance/verification.
  12. Completes in-person HR mail sorting (scanning).
  13. Assistance with employee relations when designated.
  14. May assist with recruitment and posting efforts.
  15. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Experience and Skills

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative capacity. An internship in HR may be substituted for experience.
  • Basic knowledge of principles and practices of HR/personnel administration.
  • Proven capability to multitask and “switch gears”.
  • File management.
  • Ability to multitask and switch priorities as needed/designated. Understands the everchanging HR environment and accepts new projects/tasks when designated.
  • HRIS experience (various systems) - preferred
  • ATS experience preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills including a helpful and friendly demeanor focused on customer service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and other applicable electronic office systems
  • High level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, consistently meet deadlines.
