Job Summary

This Sr. Manager - Operations role is responsible for directing area utility operations in a fiscally efficient and effective manner while maintaining a safe and reliable gas distribution system. The successful candidate will lead operational performance to achieve objectives related to safety, reliability, compliance and financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish area operating budget for utility operations and manage area performance to meet budget.
  • Manage area maintenance capital budget to ensure effective use of dollars while maintaining the integrity of the distribution system.
  • Develop and prioritize operations goals consistent with area and divisional goals and direct the operation to meet these goals.
  • Provide area leadership to encourage interdepartmental communication and cooperation in support of the company objectives.
  • Develop a strong supervisory team and promote individual growth, cooperation and development among the operating section employees
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Gas Operations Manual, Emergency Plan
  • Knowledge of DOT and PUC regulations
  • Knowledge of gas distribution system operating procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience supervising and leading staff
  • Valid driving’s license and safe driving history (confirmed by driver’s record check)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred – Engineering or Business
  • 5 to 10 years progressive experience in the pipeline industry
  • OSHA, ICS training and certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license. Must obtain PA driver’s license if current license is from another state
  • Demonstrable computer skills and/or aptitude, basic business and accounting/finance experience or education
