Senior Director of Retail Pharmacy - Military veterans preferred

Develops, directs and communicates the department mission, vision, strategic goals and plans which are consistent with those of the organization. Ensures a focus on patient safety, performance improvement, financial accountability and regulatory compliance.  
 

• Collaborates with the Vice President of Pharmacy Services in developing the departmental vision in alignment with Carilion's mission and values. Initiates strategic planning for medication use, operational and clinical services; develops and revises department goals and objectives necessary to support organizational strategic objectives.
• As Senior Director for Pharmacy Services at CMC, collaborates with physician, nursing and hospital leadership towards best practices, quality patient care and outcomes.
• Ensures that Pharmacy Services practices sound financial and human resource management that positively impacts the financial performance of the organization.
• Accountable for safe, effective medication use practices, continuous performance improvement and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation organizations through provision of essential pharmacy resources and support. Sets expectation for Pharmacy Services participation in a multidisciplinary approach to performance improvement.
• Champions and advances technology in support of patient care improvements related to medication management. 
• Provides structure and guidance to Pharmacy Services leadership team that enables leaders to effectively prioritize work and allocate resources in order to meet department objectives.  
• Maintains competence in clinical and operational functions; sets expectations for initial and ongoing education and skill development for self and others.
