Personnel Administrator



The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking a qualified Personnel Administrator. Recently ranked 2nd (tie) by US News & World Report for our Nurse Anesthesia DNP program, 4th (tie) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and 5th (tie) for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner DNP program, the School of Nursing continues to be one of the most reputable and well-known nursing education schools in the country for both undergraduate and graduate level programs. The Personnel Administrator will support multiple departments, supervisors, and individuals in all facets of human resources for staff, graduate student academics, temporary employees, postdoctoral scholars and associates, and student workers. The role also ensures payroll runs accurately for employees and provides guidance to supervisors on performance management and hiring best practices.

A bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience is required for this position. All applicants must submit a resume and cover letter in order to be considered.


Job Summary

Provides advice and guidance on all phases of human resources, serves as a consultant to people managers and unit leadership, and manages recruitment strategy and coordinates the interview process. Facilitates trainings, provides strategic planning and budgeting guidance, and performs complex data analysis for senior management.


Essential Functions
  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes for staff, academics, temporary employees, postdoctoral scholars and associates, and students.
  • Initiate employee actions for staff, academics, temporary employees, postdoctoral scholars and associates, and students.
  • Follow University policies, procedures, and best practices regarding hiring processes.
  • Maintain recruitment and employment records.
  • Coordinate with School's finance and grants teams regarding recruitment and payroll.
  • Support departments by providing performance management guidance.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers on best practices for recruitment.
  • Ensure proper documentation control and management over personnel files.

Physical Effort

Minimal physical effort. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time in an office environment.
