JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Health and Safety is responsible for the management of the health and safety programs and staff onsite.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The oversight of the safety engineers, equipment safety engineers and industrial hygienists. This will include managing the review of drawings/plans for construction of new facilities, semi-conductor tools and support equipment to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Participating in the evaluation and approval of new or modified facilities, semi-conductor tools and support equipment with respect to site and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Managing the review and comment on third party SEMI S2/S8/S14 evaluations, HAZOP and/or risk assessments.
  • Assisting the engineers and hygienists with recommending safety features and/or engineering solutions to ensure compliance with NYS Building and Fire Codes; SEMI standards and to reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Managing routine regulatory driven audits with analysis and follow-up of results for all areas.
  • Participating in other EHS programs as assigned or as needed.
  • Such programs are but may not be limited to EHS procedure development/writing; EHS training and tracking; incident and injury investigation and follow-up; safety committee, etc.
  • This position will provide advice and counsel regarding compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations and standards.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements for Manager of Health and Safety

  • A bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization in engineering, safety, technology, chemistry, biology, health sciences.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the field of health and safety preferably with semiconductor experience Must possess excellent communication skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office computer programs.
  • Candidates must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS for Manager of Health and Safety

  • A master's degree from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization in engineering, safety, technology, chemistry, biology, health sciences.
  • 10 years of experience in the field of environmental, health and safety
  • Specific knowledge and experience in semiconductor tools, process materials, and standards applicable to semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Proven knowledge of applicable codes OSHA/EPA/DEC/NFPA/UBC/UFC and SEMI standards is preferred.
  • CSP/ASP/IH

Salary Range: $120,000- $150,000/ annual

*Posted salary ranges are determined upon experience and education.
