Responsibilities

Summary:

The Remote Sales Account Manager – Department of Defense (DoD) serves as the primary liaison for managing and growing relationships with clients across the U.S. military and defense agencies, including but not limited to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and sales under the Distribution and Pricing Agreement. This role is responsible for driving sales, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering exceptional service to key DoD stakeholders. The position requires a deep understanding of government procurement processes, defense logistics, and mission-critical medical supply needs.

Organizational Impact:

This role ensures mission-critical medical supplies are delivered with precision and compliance, directly supporting the health readiness of U.S. defense personnel and contributing to Sarnova’s federal growth strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DoD clients, managing all aspects of the sales cycle from inquiry to fulfillment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with military procurement officers, medical logistics personnel, and contracting officers
  • Navigate and comply with federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), GSA schedules, and DoD-specific procurement protocols
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing, contract compliance, and delivery logistics
  • Respond to RFQs, RFPs, and bid solicitations from DoD agencies, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions
  • Monitor and manage contract performance, including pricing, delivery timelines, and service-level agreements
  • Resolve issues related to billing, shipping, product availability, and returns in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records of communications, contracts, and sales activities in CRM and ERP systems
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to DoD account growth, customer satisfaction, and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to expand product offerings and services within existing DoD accounts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, logistics, and compliance to support DoD operations
  • Stay informed on DoD procurement trends, policy changes, and emerging needs in the defense medical space.
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree strong preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in government, defense, or healthcare sectors
  • Familiarity with DoD procurement systems (e.g., SAM.gov, FedMall, ECAT) and contracting vehicles
  • Strong understanding of federal compliance requirements and military logistics
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to manage complex account needs
  • Proficient in relevant software for order processing and customer relationship management (e.g., ERP, CRM systems)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and cultural sensitivity
  • Experience in international account management, logistics, or related fields preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret professional journals and whitepapers, customer protocols, municipality or private service bid documents and or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and submit expense reports.
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of the job role including required goals and business practices in a remote environment
