Description:
ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to support advanced occupational and environmental health education and analytical training within the Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. This position supports the development and delivery of educational and proficiency testing materials, as well as laboratory operations for preventive medicine, exposure assessment, and chemical-biological defense training.
Responsibilities
The Industrial Hygienist will contribute subject matter expertise (SME), technical support, and training development services in support of military occupational and environmental health programs. Specific duties include:
- Develop educational packages (ePACs) for GC/MS, FTIR, Raman, and spectrophotometer instruments (e.g., HAPSITE ER, HSS, Gemini, HACH DR1900)
- Create and analyze Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) samples containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for technical training and validation
- Interpret and apply Federal Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs), AEGLs, MEGs, and SEGs in health risk assessment training
- Produce post-challenge reports and training materials explaining proper analytical methods and interpretation strategies
- Develop and deliver advanced Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) skills enhancement training for field personnel
- Conduct literature reviews and research DoD, DHA, and federal regulations for incorporation into technical training materials
- Provide SME support to technical education and training teams and contribute to development of DoD instructional products
- Support laboratory operations, including sample development and QA/QC for air, water, and soil matrices using field analytical instruments
- Assist in preparation of health communication content related to TICs, TIMs, HAZMAT, and Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs)
- Ensure all educational and testing materials meet formatting, grammar, and accuracy standards for adult education within DoD
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Health Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, or a related field
- Experience conducting Health Risk Assessments (HRAs) and Occupational Environmental Health Site Assessments (OEHSAs)
- Proficiency with field-portable instruments: Inficon HAPSITE ER/HSS, Thermo Fisher Gemini, HACH DR190
- Ability to perform QA/QC testing for air, water, and soil samples
- Knowledge of Federal OELs, AEGLs, MEGs, SEGs, and exposure pathway assessment
- Strong research and technical writing skills for training material development
- Experience with the development of job aids, presentations, test materials, and answer keys
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot instrumentation issues
- US Citizen
Highly Desired Skills
- Prior military experience as a NEPMU Technician/Officer or USAF Bioenvironmental Engineer/Technician
- Experience assessing health hazards in deployed environments
- Familiarity with toxic industrial chemicals/materials and CBRN protective strategies
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and delivering training packages for DoD personnel
- Experience writing professional educational (ePAC) and PAT packages for DoD audiences
