Position Purpose
To manage the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department, ensuring the proper functionality of the Company’s computer systems, networks, infrastructure, website, help desk support, and telecommunication systems, ensuring each is functioning properly and securely for the Company. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree in computer sciences or business management.
  • Five years demonstrated experience in management in similar role. 
  • Five years’ experience with ERP systems.  
  • Managing EDI and working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current hardware and software technology is required.
  • Must possess communications skills to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization including the Owner.
  • Must possess technical expertise, computer knowledge and skills. 
  • Leadership skills, analytical skills and good judgment required.  
  • Able to troubleshoot issues and solve problems related to IT.
  • Must have initiative and interpersonal skills to ensure work is accomplished while maintaining good employee relations in the IT department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Working across departments to create, implement, and maintain the Company’s corporate reporting program including integration of computer systems with the manufacturing equipment.
  • Contribute to the planning and maintenance of the Company’s IT equipment, computer hardware, software, and phone systems. 
  • Oversee the functionality and structural integrity of the Company’s website.
  • Works collaboratively with the CFO in selection and implementation of software, hardware, and related computer/communications equipment to achieve Information Systems strategic plans; operating within budget and operating plans for both Denver, CO and Cheyenne, WY locations.
  • Manage outside technical partners to ensure our operating system is maintained in accordance with our support contracts.
  • Directly lead and manage the IT Department staff, ensuring that the IT staff execute their assigned responsibilities in efficient and productive ways.
  • Responsible for the IT team who provide technical support and ensure integrity and reliability of the information systems and technology. 
  • Responsible for the safety and security of the Company’s information systems data, including developing and maintaining system emergency and contingency plans.
  • Plans and implements service and maintenance programs for hardware and software for Company’s copiers and fax services, assisting the Purchasing department with vendor selection and negotiations.
  • Prioritize programming requests and IT department’s workload.
  • Assist and support the IT staff in operational and programming duties. 
  • Supports CFO in general decision making as required to support strategic objectives.
  • Perform other related duties assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work and remain focused in an open office environment where other department phone calls and business conversations are apart of the environment.
  • Must be able sit at a PC and perform computer functions for 80% of the workday.
  • Must be able to physically set-up and take down computers, monitors, and other equipment. 
  • Lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.  
  • Able to stand and walk and move about the facility.  
  • Bend, twist, stoop and kneel and reach forward and overhead.
  • Must be adaptable to constant change and able to work well under pressure.
  • Must have manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability to use computer and operate computer equipment.  
  • Able to sit at a PC and phone for part of the workday.
  • Able to reach forward, and overhead, 
  • Able to hear and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must have good visual acuity in order perform the computer functions of the job sometimes in hard to access areas in manufacturing/production.  
  • Must be able to work nights and/or weekends should the need arise to accommodate all shifts or to work around shifts.
  • New systems implementations may impose special time requirements for training of employees or conversion activities during non-peak hours
  • Some travel may be required to the Cheyenne, WY facility.
