Our consultants have years of experience assisting hospitals with reducing labor and non-labor costs and improving revenue cycle operations. Our expert data analysts, physicians, and other clinicians aggregate complex clinical, cost, and quality data to better inform decision making and engage physicians in driving cost and quality improvements through clinical redesign.

The Senior Managing Consultant position is a senior-level consulting staff position. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Senior Managing Consultant will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include management of junior staff, design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of financial data and markets, quality control, development and presentation of client deliverables, management of existing client relationships, industry research, and expansion of business.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of all technical and management aspects of engagement requirements in their primary areas of expertise, as well as a thorough understanding of the business and financial principles of one or more industries.
  • Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate consistent, balanced project delegation, supervision and leadership skills across all areas of an engagement.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Develop analyses and financial models using transactional data and/or financial data.
  • Generate client deliverables and make valuable contributions to expert reports.
  • Manage client relationships and communicate results and work product as appropriate.
  • Prioritize assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Take an active role in business development through management and expansion of projects and client relationships, development of project proposals and the creation of thought leadership papers, journal articles and presentations.

Skills

  • Knowledge of care management models, care coordination, transition of care concepts, and outcomes-driven care planning.
  • Basic understanding of system and process evaluation of health system, hospital, and group practice settings that aligns case management practice and process within the framework of patient-centered care.
  • Time management skills to be able to handle more than one engagement at a time.
  • Facilitations skills – ability to facilitate workgroup or design sessions, planning and implementing new processes with physicians, nurses and other non-clinicians in a rapid change management process
  • Resource management skills (related to BRG/client resources)
  • Areas of knowledge and expertise to include:
    • Clinical skills: Thorough and holistic understanding of patient and disease process management through the continuum of care
    • Moderate to advanced understanding of real-time progression-of-care management, care coordination
    • Basic knowledge of resource management (reduction of practice variations and costs per case)
    • Clinical insight and understanding of at least one major software support system available for case management and care coordination services (i.e. Allscripts, Morrissey)
    • Moderate to advanced understanding of access to care, accurate level of care and continuous monitoring against nationally recognized acute care criteria such as Milliman®

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other health related field required
  • MSN, MHA, or MBA preferred
  • Case Management Certification preferred – CMSA or ACMA
  • Seven or more years of progressive case management or patient progression experience in a Health System
  • Prior consulting experience in a professional services firm preferred
  • Travel is required (75%)

Senior Managing Consultant Salary Range: $110,000 – $275,000
