    Summary

    Hands-on role that supervises and coordinates activities of union production and stockroom workers to execute operational plan on 2nd shift. Responsible for monitoring, measuring, and controlling quality and productivity expectations. Responsible for oversight of safety best practices in all areas of the shop floor. This position will be responsible for supervising operations involving equipment assembly and stockroom activity.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assists in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, coordinating and implementing processes related to inventory control and production activities on 2nd shift
    • Ensure 2nd shift employees have adequate training to support operational processes.
    • Performs employee evaluations to determine skill level, which results in defining training requirements and progression within the job classification system.
    • Manages employees in accordance with established company rules and regulations and administers consistent disciplinary action accordingly.
    • Directs daily activity in connection with UAW contractual agreement to support the current build schedule
    • Follows company policies and enforces consistent regulations in the following areas – ISO9001, Safety, Ipsen's Quality Management System and all associated work rules.
    • Organizes work areas in a neat and orderly fashion to obtain maximum efficiency
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties accordingly.
    • Assists in oversight of inventory cycle counts, material job issuance, and packing of orders.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong communication skills; verbal, written as well as listening skills. Able to successfully communicate to various levels within the organization.
    • Possess strong IT skills (such as MS Office, ERP, Export Document Software, etc.)
    • Possess a high level of professionalism when interacting with employees, management, or outside individuals.
    • The successful candidate can manage numerous complex priorities simultaneously, with a “hands on” approach and style.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully juggle competing priorities.
    • Possess a high level of attention to detail & accuracy, particularly with detailed shipping protocols.
    • Possess strong influencing, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
    • Possess strong integrity and ethical standards.

    Education and Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate or bachelor's degree or other advanced education preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of proven, progressive, job-related experience in supervising or leading teams within a manufacturing or related environment
    • Prior experience in a union environment desired
