Function of Position:

The Clinical Coordinator is a faculty position coupled with additional clinical responsibilities. The position is a division of duties between teaching courses and managing the clinical aspects of the radiologic technology program. Tenure-track faculty teach classes, develop new educational materials, assist with curriculum review and assessment, perform professional duties, and participate in departmental and institutional functions, including department meetings and committee work. Tenure-track faculty report to the chairperson of the Health Professions Department. Academic departments are led by a peer who serves as a department chair for a three-year term. All tenure-track faculty are in the pool from which the chair is appointed. Faculty are responsible for preparing and teaching courses in the department and will be assigned at the Brighton Campus. The successful candidate will bring to our school a particular expertise in Radiologic Technology. In addition to teaching our foundation and upper-level courses in this area, this tenure-track faculty member will develop new courses to expand our offerings in this area. We seek a candidate with an interest in active collaboration with our college and department, as well as our Radiologic Technology program.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge
  • Teaches courses and evaluates student performance as per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community College
  • Teaches multiple courses/sections each term, as outlined by the contract
  • Prepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagement
  • Prepares Course Information Sheet/Syllabus/Outlines in accordance with department and College guidelines
  • Establishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely manner
  • Maintains office hours according to contractual guidelines in order to support student learning
  • Advises students concerning academic, career, and related issues according to contractual guidelines
  • Assists the department with student recruitment, enrollment, and placement
  • Assists the department with student retention and completion initiatives, including early alert
  • Assists with the development, review, and revision of the department curriculum, including assessment of student learning and program review
  • Develops innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning
  • Incorporates high-impact teaching practices into course design
  • Attends department meetings as a contributing member
  • Contributes to the College through Division, department, and College committees
  • Actively engages in pedagogical and academic discipline professional development
  • Assists the department in faculty recruitment and peer evaluation
  • Assists in the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projects

Examples of Clinical Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties of Clinical Coordinator, including maintenance of all students' clinical records utilizing the Trajecsys system, preparing clinical rotational schedules, collaborating with clinical sites to fulfill program requirements, meeting with clinical supervisors and management, conducting clinical faculty meetings and evaluations, fulfilling assessment, certification, and accreditation requirements for the program. Applies program policies as related to clinical experiences

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution, with commitment to complete master's degree within 4 years of hire
  • Documented two (2) years' experience in the professional discipline
  • Documented one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program
  • Ability to teach courses within the department (http://www.monroecc.edu/depts/radtech/)
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies
  • Awareness of the potential value of technology as a tool for teaching
  • Experience and/or interest in developing and teaching online courses
  • Experience with computerized student record management
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages, proficiently


Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $60,060 to $73,920 and is based on the mentioned factors.
