POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment, with an emphasis on DC plant systems, including -48Vdc power systems, rectifiers, and battery setups. Install and configure DC power and related electronic systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards. Conduct tests and inspections to verify system performance, identify faults, and ensure reliable operation. Use technical documentation, such as schematics, manuals, or manufacturer guidelines, to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Document maintenance activities, test results, and system performance in detailed reports. Support senior technicians in planning and executing complex maintenance tasks and assist in preparing preventative maintenance reports for internal or government customer use. Collaborate with team members, providing technical guidance to junior technicians and coordinating small work groups as needed. Participate in mentoring junior staff and contribute to small projects or customer-focused initiatives as part of ongoing team responsibilities. Remain adaptable to evolving technologies and changing operational requirements. Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all tasks. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include cross-functional responsibilities. Be available for occasional overtime and weekend work.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree or certification in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field, or relevant technical experience. Minimum of two years of progressive experience in electronics, preferably with DC power systems or DC plant equipment, with an associate degree or certification; or five years of progressive experience in electronics, preferably with DC power systems or DC plant equipment, without a degree. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or similar equipment, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation. Strong knowledge of electronic and DC power system maintenance and operation. Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Clear communication for documenting work and collaborating with colleagues. Valid driver’s license. Ability to routinely lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work in diverse conditions, including outdoor environments and inclement weather. Eligibility for security clearance, if required.

Desired Qualifications:

Interest or experience in assisting senior technicians with project coordination and customer interactions, along with hands-on exposure to DC plant systems such as rectifiers, battery maintenance, or automatic transfer switches (ATS) and TSN systems. Experience working with advanced diagnostic tools like Fluke/RPM power recorders or supporting system optimization efforts is also valued. Additional certifications in electronics, power systems, or project coordination are desirable.
