JOB SUMMARY
Epiq Solutions is seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Production Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of our product manufacturing and testing processes. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the production schedule, driving quality and efficiency across our build and test operations, coordinating procurement and vendor activities, and partnering closely with engineering to enable scalable, repeatable hardware delivery for our cutting-edge RF and embedded systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all aspects of production operations, including planning, procurement, assembly, testing, and logistics to meet delivery timelines and cost targets.
- Develop and implement scalable production strategies, processes, and KPIs that align with company growth and product complexity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, quality assurance, and sales teams to ensure products are delivered on time and to specification.
- Own supply chain relationships, including contract manufacturers and key component vendors, driving performance, cost management, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate and execute procurement of electronic components, PCBs, and sub-assemblies, working with contract manufacturers, PCB vendors, and component suppliers.
- Oversee production scheduling and capacity planning to meet demand across internal and customer programs.
- Lead and develop a high-performing production team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards including ISO 9001, ITAR, and quality management best practices.
- Drive manufacturing readiness for new product introductions, including the development and maintenance of detailed and standardized build books, working closely with engineering on DFM/DFT feedback and ramp planning.
- Perform assembly and test procedures when required to support throughput and resolve bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement an inventory management system to streamline material flow, track stock levels, and reduce delays.
- Collaborate with engineering to design and configure test stations and assembly workspaces, ensuring they meet functional and ergonomic requirements.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting and issue resolution for production problems preventing escalation to engineering.
Requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in electronics or RF manufacturing inclusive of assembly, testing, or production management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in scaling productions operations, preferably in a high-tech or defense-adjacent industry with the ability to plan and schedule production activities in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning, and quality control in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, BOM structuring, and production reporting tools.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic components and packaging types (e.g., 0402, 0603, QFN, TQFP).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with internal teams (engineering, leadership) and external partners/vendors.
- Highly organized, process-oriented, and disciplined in managing schedules, inventory, and documentation.
- Self-motivated with a problem-solving mindset and a bias toward continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
DESIRED SKILLS
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and documentation practices.
- Technical background in RF/wireless communications systems at the technician or engineering level.
- Experience with debugging electronic circuit boards and resolving test/assembly issues.
- Proficient in the use of test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Skilled in hand soldering and fine-pitch component rework.
