Location: Portsmouth, NH

Situated on the Pease International Trade port, our contemporary Portsmouth office consists of office and conference space overlooking the nearby arriving and departing planes.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Field observation and inspection of infrastructure projects under the direct supervision of a Project Manager/ Contract Administrator/ Senior Resident Engineer
  • Conduct on-site construction observation in daily reports and report issues and discrepancies for ASD-designed airport projects
  • Complete FAA required Construction Administration paperwork, attend job meetings, and coordinate with airport staff, local municipal staff, materials testing firms and other sub-consultants while on or off site
  • Conduct simple field testing of construction materials and report on test results
  • Use engineering tools such as transit level, rotary laser, GPS or others to measure and verify installed construction quantities
  • Obtain a general understanding of the construction project schedule and the logical sequence of construction activities
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, and provide updates and recommendations to your supervisor in maintaining schedule and budget

Secondary responsibilities include:

  • Civil engineering tasks such as basic airport design, quantity takeoff, cost estimation, schedule creation, plan constructability reviews, project phasing oversight, edit FAA project specifications, field escort of sub consultant field investigation activities, GPS data collection, and office download
  • Other future secondary responsibilities will be as a Staff Engineer or Project Engineer as resume, experience, and background permits
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • AS or BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 2+ years of prior experience working in construction on roads, bridges, site development, or airports (preferred)
  • OSHA 10-hour certificate
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Salary is contingent on experience
