SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This position is fully on-site and located in Savannah, GA. This role will be responsible for leading the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting audits and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, and thrives in a collaborative environment where cross-functional teamwork is essential. With at least five years of progressive accounting experience and a proven track record of interpreting complex financial data, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in driving financial accuracy and strategic insight across the organization.
Job Duties Include:

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in annual external audits and liaise with auditors.
Accounting Operations/Internal Controls:
  • Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Develop and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard assets
Budgeting & Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide insights to senior management.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Mentor and work with accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, HR, Operations) to support financial initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years experience
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Advanced problem-solving ability: critical thinking
  • High attention to detail
  • A team player working with different departments to gather all the necessary information to explain/improve financial situation.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint & Quickbooks Online a plus
  • Strong Communication Skills
