Overview

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Trades Helper to support day-to-day building operations and facilities maintenance. This position plays a key role in maintaining building systems by performing skilled tasks in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of hands-on experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic HVAC maintenance and minor repairs on heating and cooling systems.

• Conduct daily building inspections, including HVAC equipment, lighting, restrooms, and common areas.

• Troubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing issues (e.g., clogged sinks and toilets).

• Perform basic electrical work such as replacing light bulbs and checking fixtures.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical and general work areas.

• Respond promptly and professionally to tenant and client work orders.

• Assist the on-site Building Engineer with routine system maintenance and mechanical tasks.

• Support resolution of general building maintenance issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must be eligible for and willing to join Local 68 Operating Engineers Union.

• 3–4 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related skilled trade.

• Strong working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

• Ability to read and follow basic maintenance procedures and equipment manuals.

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, in confined spaces, and under various environmental conditions.
