JOB TITLE: Logistics Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Superintendent, Engineer

PAY RANGE: $25-$30/Hour DOE

SUMMARY

Responsible for the material needs of various projects to include special environmental requirements. Work active inventories for both purchased consumable material and any furnished from the customer. Utilize current consumption rates to provide forecasts to the customer on future material need and order consumables with lead time estimates to limit down time on the deck plate. Collaborate with the Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Managers, on material need for upcoming work and any other necessary aspects relating to material for each project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage active inventories across multiple projects.
  • Facilitate furnished material transfer from the customer.
  • Coordinate purchasing of project specific consumables.
  • Create material related spreadsheets to support the Project Managers and Superintendents for each job.
  • Work with Project Managers and Superintendents on the pre-planning of required material needs.
  • Work with Engineers to ensure material storage areas have proper environmental capabilities.
  • Submit weekly reports to Project Managers, Superintendents, or Engineering of material consumption rates to include material tracking spreadsheets,
  • Manage and receive daily material requests from all Superintendents and submit material orders.
  • Perform receipt inspection on all ordered materials to ensure the vendor complies with PO quantities and instructions.
  • Oversight of the tool rooms and tool room personnel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of government processes for handling government and customer furnished materials
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience
  • Highly organized with ability to schedule tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and have an understanding of ratios and percentages
  • Ability to read and interpret complex written, oral, or diagramed instructions
  • Familiarity with procurement, purchasing, logistics, and supply chain concepts and methodologies
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental hazards specific to the manufacturing industry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required, undergraduate degree preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Requires average strength, physical dexterity, and agility
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, confined spaces, precarious places, and work well near other employees
