We are currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for EPG Field Technician new hires. $1,000 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $1,000 is payable after 180 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Technician in Ocean City, Maryland. The Electric Power Generation (EPG) Technician position is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic operational failures to electrical generator systems and related basic engine failures at customer sites. Seeking candidates with Must have previous field environment; diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing light mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment; High school diploma or GED required.

Requirements for the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician position include:

• Excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification.
• Must be able to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands.
• Must be proficient in the use of technical software, databases and manuals.

Physical requirements must be met for the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $29.51 – $41.04 per hour

Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non-discretionary plans.
