The Senior Manager of Contract Manufacturing Procurement will lead our third-party manufacturing partnerships. This role is responsible for the end-to-end operations and procurement activities related to external manufacturing partners, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and timely production, supporting innovation programs as well as cost reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities
Third-Party Manufacturing Management:
Lead the selection, onboarding, and performance management of contract manufacturers (CMOs), ensuring alignment with company standards, capacity needs, and growth objectives.
Proactively evaluate CMO capabilities, negotiate service agreements, and implement KPIs to ensure consistent quality, compliance, and delivery performance.
Procurement Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods through third-party partners, optimizing cost, quality, and service.
Leverage market intelligence and supplier insights to drive competitive advantage, mitigate risks, and support long-term business goals in collaboration with category owners.
Operational Excellence:
Drive continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency, quality assurance, and service levels across all co-manufacturing operations.
Implement continuous improvement principles, monitor production metrics, and lead root cause analysis to resolve operational issues, bottlenecks and enhance throughput and profitability for AFNA.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with R&D, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to support new product launches, cost savings initiatives, risk mitigation and sustainability strategies
Ensure alignment across departments by facilitating regular cross-functional reviews and integrating feedback into operational planning.
People Development & Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of procurement and operations professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
Create individual development plans, provide coaching and feedback, and build succession pipelines to strengthen team capabilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Experience managing third-party contract manufacturing in CPG, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industries
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills as well as exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools,
Project management experience and cross functional leadership skills with ability to interact with internal and external executive stakeholders
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
